Perhaps the timing is just a coincidence and perhaps I'm a conspiracist at heart. But Howard's commitment comes the day after Nicolas Claxton declared he'd indeed remain in the NBA draft.
It's always nice to beat Georgia Tech, but prior to Coach Crean arriving in Athens, rarely did Georgia win recruiting battles over the ACC school downtown.
Howard stands 6'10 and runs the court well for his size and length. He is a conventional center, meaning don't expect Embiid like perimeter skills just yet. He rebounds extremely well and will fit well on this young team.
