Georgia Tech head coach Damon Stoudamire has added another experienced head coach to his first staff.

Bonzi Wells, who has been the head coach of LeMoyne-Owen College for the past two seasons, has accepted a role as an assistant coach at Georgia Tech according to the school's website

Here is Well's bio from the school's website:

During his time at LeMoyne-Owen, Wells went 23-16 in SIAC play and coached two players who were selected to all-conference teams. Former Magicians standout Jaquan Lawrence was selected to the inaugural HBCU All-Star game and was named SIAC Defensive player of the year under Wells. "I learned a lot from coach, it was a great experience getting to play under someone who played the game and had success at the highest level", said Lawrence.

Wells is going to be joining a coaching staff that included Karl Hobbs, Terry Parker Jr, and Pershin Williams.

Hobbs is a coaching veteran and had been at Rutgers since 2016. Previous stops include two stints at UConn (2011-2016 as the assistant coach and director of basketball administration, 1993-2000 assistant coach/recruiting coordinator), George Washington (2001-2010, head coach), and his first stop was at Boston University (1988-1993).

As the head coach, Hobbs led George Washington to three NCAA Tournament appearances and as an assistant coach at UConn in 2014, he was a part of the coaching staff that won the national championship.

Parker had been on the UAB coaching staff since 2020. He had previously coached at Indiana State, Utah Valley, and Nicholls State. He played at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for two seasons before transferring to Louisiana Tech to finish his playing career.

Williams has spent the last four seasons at Kennesaw State and is a former grad assistant at Georgia Tech.
