Georgia Tech Basketball Announces White Out For Home Matchup Against No.3 North Carolina On Next Tuesday

Georgia Tech faces the Tar Heels at home next Tuesday night

One of the biggest home games of the season for Damon Stoudamire and Georgia Tech will take place next Tuesday night. The No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels are coming to Atlanta and the Yellow Jackets will be hosting a white-out for the game, which will be at 7:00 p.m.

This is going to be the biggest challenge of the season for Georgia Tech in terms of opponent quality. Georgia Tech has done reasonably well against teams that are likely NCAA Tournament teams, beating Duke in December and going on the road and beating Clemson, while also nearly upsetting Duke again. This is going to be a different challenge entirely though.

North Carolina has won nine games in a row and all of them have been double-digits. They have started to separate from the pack in terms of contenders in the ACC. Georgia Tech is going to have a shot to knock them off, but first they have a road date with Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Georgia Tech has had an up and down season under Stoudamire and they are still trying to navigate their first season under their new coach. They have lost seven of their last eight games, but only one has been by double digits. They lost a double digit lead against Duke and Boston College, lost an overtime game against Notre Dame, and lost leads against both Virginia and Pitt.

Tuesday night will be a huge opportunity against the ACC's top team. For all of the ups and downs that this team has endured this season and for the better part of this month, a win against a team like North Carolina could be looked back on as a possible turning point under Stoudamire.

Tip off against the Tar Heels will be at 7:00 p.m.
