After losing by 29 points in their first matchup, Georgia Tech is hoping for a better showing tonight against Wake Forest.

It was as ugly of a game as you could imagine for the Yellow Jackets. They could not score the ball to start the game and that allowed Wake to build an insurmountable lead that they could not overcome.

Georgia Tech has played better since that game, while Wake Forest is fighting to land a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Yellow Jackets have won three of their last four games, beating Syracuse, Miami, and just recently Florida State on Senior Day. It has been an up-and-down season for Damon Stoudamire, but there has been better play over the past couple of weeks.

Miles Kelly (14.4 ppg) leads three Yellow Jackets averaging in double figures this season, including freshman forward Baye Ndongo (11.8) and junior guard Kowacie Reeves, Jr. (10.1). Tech’s other rotation player averaged between 4.9 and 9.1 points per game.

Georgia Tech has a 46-43 lead in the all-time series and a 45-41 lead in games played since it became a member of the ACC. That is the best winning percentage that the Yellow Jackets have against any of the pre-2005 expansion members of the conference.

Tech has won 11 of the last 17 meetings between the two teams, but the Demon Deacons have taken the last three, including an 80-51 win in Atlanta in the teams’ first meeting of the 2023-24 season.

According to Vegas , the Demon Deacons will cruise to an easy victory tonight. Wake Forest is a 13.5-point favorite according to the latest odds.

Can Georgia Tech find a way to cover tonight or possibly even win outright?

I think winning the game is going to be awfully tough. Wake Forest is 15-0 at home this season and Georgia Tech has not been a good road team. The Demon Deacons are also a tough matchup for Georgia Tech from a style perspective. They are an up-tempo team with one of the best offenses in the ACC and the country. Georgia Tech had a ton of trouble defending them in their last matchup. I think that is going to make the game tough to win, but I do think that Georgia Tech can find a way to cover and make this game competitive tonight.

Final Score: Wake Forest 85, Georgia Tech 74
