Georgia Tech remains in 14th place as March approaches

March is almost here.

Georgia Tech, fresh off of a beatdown loss vs Clemson, bounced back yesterday and beat Miami on the road. The Hurricanes are reeling now, having lost six straight and they find themselves near the bottom of the conference standings.

The Yellow Jackets are perhaps the most up-and-down team in the conference. Some nights they look completely overmatched, but they also own some really good wins. They finish the season with Florida State, Wake Forest, and Virginia. As bad as the season has gone, they are only a game and a half from 11th place.

North Carolina remains on top of the conference and with Duke losing their best player due to an injury, they might be staying there. The Tar Heels got a big win over Virginia this past weekend.

Duke lost Kyle Fillipowski to injury in their loss to Wake Forest and if he is out for a long time, it hurts Duke's chances for an ACC regular season title and Tournament title.

Virginia and Wake Forest are in third and fourth place and would get the other double-byes in the ACC Tournament. Wake boosted their NCAA Tournament chances with their win over Duke.

Clemson appears to be a lock for the NCAA Tournament at this point and they sit in 5th place after wins over Georgia Tech and Florida State this week.

Pitt's longshot NCAA Tournament hopes took a bit of a hit this week, but they are hoping to finish strong.

NC State, Syracuse, and Florida State are the next three in the standings and their positions could go back and forth over the next couple of weeks.

Virginia Tech, Boston College, Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and Louisville are the bottom six in the conference.
