Updated Look At The ACC Basketball Standings After Georgia Tech's Upset Win

Georgia Tech pulled a big upset on Wednesday by beating Miami in Atlanta

It was a night full of upsets in the ACC. Georgia Tech took down Miami at home and gave the Hurricanes their first ACC loss of the season and NC State beat Duke by 24 points. Nobody saw those results coming and both of them shook up the ACC standings heading into Saturday's action.

With the loss to Georgia Tech, Miami is no longer unbeaten in ACC play and has fallen off from the top spot in the conference. Clemson and Pitt remain in the top spot in the ACC and both are 4-0. Pitt is riding a five-game winning streak in the conference currently.

Miami is still right behind the Panthers and the Tigers in the standings at 4-1 and Syracuse is the other team in the ACC with just one conference loss. The Orange avoided a disastrous upset at the hands of Louisville the other night to remain 3-1 in the ACC. Syracuse has not been very impressive in a lot of their wins, but they continue to win nevertheless.

The three preseason favorites in the ACC are all jammed together at 2-2. Duke had their embarrassing loss to NC State last night and Virginia was upset by ACC-leading Pitt on Tuesday. North Carolina bounced back from a loss to Pitt last Friday by beating Wake Forest on Wednesday.

Wake Forest, Boston College, and Florida State are all 2-2 as well. NC State is 2-3 after their win over the Blue Devils.

Georgia Tech is now with Virginia Tech as being the 1-3 teams in the conference. The Yellow Jackets have had a tough schedule to start ACC play and will look to move to 2-3 with a win over Florida State on Saturday.

Louisville and Notre Dame remain winless in ACC play so far.
