The 2025 recruiting class is still developing for most teams and programs around the country. Offers are going out and visits are going on and one interesting offer went out from Georgia Tech today to a local cornerback prospect.

2025 cornerback Zacharey Smith, who plays at Hapeville Charter in Atlanta, picked up an offer from the Yellow Jackets today. Smith is an intriguing prospect at 6'0 170 LBS and Smith also has offers from Kentucky and West Virginia among others.

Who are some other 2025 prospects to keep an on for this recruiting cycle for Georgia Tech?

From our own Najeh Wilkins:

"Three-star Edge Cole Funderburk, who plays at North Gwinnett High School in Georgia, announced his top five schools via his Twitter. The other programs on the list are Wake Forest, Indiana, Appalachian State, and Virginia Tech as finalists. He held offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest before nailing his list down.

According to 247 sports, Funderburk is a three-star prospect, the No. 67 Edge, and the No. 71 player in the state.

Funderburk had a lot of accolades in honors this past season. He was named an all-honorable mention by Georgia High School Football Daily, All-Gwinnett County Football first team, Score Atlanta Top 75, and an AJC All-state honorable mention. He finished his junior season with 65 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, and 25 hurries. He finished sixth in the state with his 16 sacks in 2023. He possesses a high motor and is very disruptive with his hands against opposing linemen. Funderburk has a great first step and torque that make it hard for linemen to be able to slow him down.

His best game this season came against Gardendale (AL), where he finished the game with 10 tackles, five tackles for loss, and two sacks. In 2023, Funderburk had five multi-sack games and two of them came in the final two games of the season. He led a renowned program in North Gwinnett to the second round of the playoffs as a junior. Expect his stock to continue to rise this spring and summer after his dominant season. Funderburk will be one of the best players on the defensive line in the Peach State heading into 2024."
