Jayce Sanker and multiple South Paulding players were on campus yesterday including OL Tyler Chukuyem, TE Tyler Leyshon, QB Kade Wiggington, and OL Will Anderton. Sanker has continued to build a relationship with the Georgia Tech staff. Although he doesn’t have an offer from the program yet, he has been continuing to talk with OL coach Geep Wade. Sanker dove into what caught his eye at practice and that relationship with Coach Wade.

“The intensity at Georgia Tech is insane. They’re constantly doing something and coaches are making sure it’s getting done at their standard and efficiently. I first met Coach Geep Wade at the OL/DL camp last summer, and he invited me out for a game visit last season. I got his number and have been in touch with him ever since,” said Sanker. “I was excited to see him again and watch him coach his own players. He’s a very cool dude and what I personally look for in a coach.”

Sanker is 6'4 and 276 pounds. Being only a sophomore, he still has time to grow into his body and continue to develop. He is a very mobile and athletic offensive tackle who can get out in space and be effective in the screen game. Sanker is very adept at handling a bull rush and being able to block one-on-one without help. He finishes his blocks and negates defenders out of the plays. He talked about what separates him from the rest.

“I think something that separates me from the rest is my mindset. Football is something I have that I know is always there. No matter what’s going on, I’ll train with everything I got to make me happy,” said Sanker.

In 2023, Sanker finished with 68 pancakes and didn’t allow a sack in protection. He was an anchor on the offensive line for the Spartans. In terms of his development, look no further than his offensive line coach who has had a big impact on his prep career thus far.

“The coach that had the biggest impact on me this year was my OL coach at South Paulding High School (Coach Lawson). Coach Lawson has always pushed me to be the best I can be no matter what. I’ve developed a good relationship with him since Coach Allen brought in the new staff,” said Sanker. “This new staff has all brought an impact on me and got me better, but Coach Lawson is the one I want to thank the most. Some accomplishments I have for this season are to win the new region my team and I just got in. We are moving down to 5A after being in 6A. My team and I have been planning to take the talent and win the whole thing this year. Also, I wanted to pick up some more offers this year going into my junior year.

Currently, Sanker holds an offer from UNC Charlotte and could see his recruiting pick up this summer and fall especially if he has a strong spring. He hit a bench press of 305 pounds and a max squat of 545 pounds in late January. Sanker is only 15 years old and has all the tools to be successful in the upcoming year. A lot of people will be sleeping on South Paulding coming into the new year, but the Spartans are bringing back a lot of their young talent including their standout offensive lineman and quarterback Kade Wiggington. Sanker will be a name to monitor over the next few months, and could see a number of quality programs extending offers.
