Four-Star Georgia Tech Target Tae Harris De-Commits From Georgia
Georgia Tech was playing host to four-star Georgia cornerback commit Tae Harris this weekend and this morning, Harris announced that he was decommitting from the Bulldogs.
Harris was at Georgia Tech on Saturday and also took a visit to Florida this month. He is going to be one of the top targets for Georgia Tech this cycle and him de-committing from Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs is an interesting development.
On the 247Sports Composite, Harris is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 221 prospect in the country, the No. 27 cornerback, and the No. 28 prospect in the state of Georgia. He plays at Cedartown High School in Georgia and also has offers from Colorado, Florida, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and UCF, among others.
Key and his staff are going to hope to put together a strong 2025 class to follow up the strong finish they had to their 2024 class. Getting a talented player like Harris would be a heck of a start.
Here are some stats and info on Harris courtesy of 247Sports:
"Also runs track. Took 10th at GHSA 4A meet as a sophomore in the 100-meter dash. Owns times of 10.73, 10.86 (-0.5), 10.90, 10.99, 11.01 and 11.03 in the event.
2022: Two-way player at Cedartown, which played for a Peach State AAAA title. Registered 59 tackles, 5 PBU and 2 INT on defense while adding 12-280-3 rushing and 4-92-2 receiving on offense."
Does this mean that Georgia Tech is automatically going to land him? No, but him backing off of his commitment from Georgia one day after visiting Georgia Tech is something to keep and eye on and his recruitment is going to be one to follow this cycle.
