Georgia Tech Commit Christian Pritchett Gets In-Home Visit From Coaches

The Early Signing Period is almost a week out and coaches are out on the road recruiting, doing home visits, and having their top prospects and transfers on campus for visits. It is closing time and for Georgia Tech, they are looking to add to their 2024 class, which currently ranks 38th in the country on 247Sports.
One of the coaching staff's visits today was to defensive back commit Christian Pritchett in New Orleans, Louisiana. Defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer and special teams coach Ricky Brumfield went out to see Pritchett today and Brumfield is the guy that should get a ton of credit for his commitment back in July. Brumfield recruits the state of Louisiana well and that was one of the upsides of hiring him.

Georgia Tech had a big recruiting weekend, hosting some of their top remaining targets, as well as transfer portal targets. They are still busy sending out offers as well and they made two interesting ones over the weekend.
Mekhi Mews is a transfer wide receiver from the University of Georgia and he announced on social media yesterday that he has been offered by the Yellow Jackets. Mews was an electric player on special teams for the Bulldogs this season and did have a punt return for a touchdown. He also caught 13 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown. He was originally a walk at UGA.

Samuel Okunlola, a 6'4 245 LBS edge rusher who played one year at Pitt, entered the transfer portal this week and yesterday, he picked up an offer from Georgia Tech.
Okunlola is rated as the 8th best defensive lineman in the transfer portal according to 247Sports. He played one year at Pitt and totaled 18 tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble. His brother is an offensive lineman at the University of Miami.
The defensive line has been one of the positions that Georgia Tech appears like they are trying to add to. Kyle Kennard, the leading pass rusher for the Yellow Jackets, entered the transfer portal and Georgia Tech is going to have to try and replace his production. They could use some experience and they have offered a few prospects at the position.
