Georgia Tech Lands Commitment From 2024 Running Back Duke Watson
Georgia Tech has added to its 2024 recruiting class today.
2024 in-state running back Duke Watson (Forsyth, GA) has committed to Georgia Tech today. The 6'0 180 LBS back was a top target for the Yellow Jackets coaching staff and after being pursued by multiple schools over the past few months, head coach Brent Key and running backs coach Norval McKenzie have their first running back in the class.
Georgia Tech currently has one other player committed for the 2024 class and that is four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA). Williams is the guy that Key is going to be building this class around and that is a very good building block alongside Watson. They will be considered the backfield of the future for Georgia Tech.
Watson had a good showing at the Under Armour camp in Atlanta a couple of weeks back and showed his athleticism and pass-catching ability there. He is a multi-purpose back that is going to be in for a big season this fall.
Other offers that Watson held are from UCF, Ole Miss, Louisville, Purdue, and Minnesota, among others. NC State and Penn State also showed interest in the talented running back.
Georgia Tech is going to be hosting several recruits on visits over the month and Key and the rest of the staff hope that they are just getting started in terms of adding players to the class.
Spring practice for the Yellow Jackets begins on Monday.
