Northwestern Grad Transfer Garnett Hollis Receivers Offer From Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech is preparing for spring football, but they are also keeping their eyes on the transfer portal for potential help. That was evident when they sent an offer to Northwestern grad transfer DB Garnett Hollis Jr, who entered the portal this week. The portal is closed, but grad transfers can still enter. There will be another transfer portal window this spring.
Hollis is an experienced defensive back and that is an area that Georgia Tech has added players to this offseason. Rhode Island defensive back Syeed Gibbs and Tennessee transfer Warren Burrell were earlier additions through the portal and both guys will attempt to be impact players in 2024.
Hollis had 49 tackles and an interception last season. He was the sixth-highest-graded player on the Northwestern defense according to PFF (Pro Football Focus) and finished with a 73.0 grade. He had particularly high grades in run defense each of the last two seasons, grading out with an 86.0 in 2023 and an 87.0 in 2022.
