Trio of 2024 Georgia Tech commits earn Four-Star Status in latest 247Sports Player Rankings Release

Georgia Tech has the No. 30 class in the country for the 2024 class

247Sports released their new player rankings update yesterday and three Georgia Tech commits in the 2024 class saw a nice rise.

Cornerback commit Trajen Greco (Mill Creek High School, GA), Athlete Luke Harpring (Marist High School, GA), and Wide Receiver Isiah Canion (Warner Robins, GA) are all rated as four-star prospects on 247Sports, with Greco rising the highest. Greco is now ranked as the No. 214 prospect in the country, Harpring at No. 223, and Canion is right behind them.

All three players have been having outstanding seasons so far.

Greco got off to a great start this season on the first weekend of the year in Georgia High School Football. Mill Creek opened up their season in the Corky Kell Classic against North Gwinnett and Greco had himself one of the best performances in the state of Georgia. He caught five passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns, while also doing a good job of returning punts. He put his full skillset on display and showed why the Yellow Jackets staff loved getting his commitment early.

Greco is getting love nationally as well. Andrew Ivins, the Director of Scouting for 247Sports, had this to say about the performance Greco had:

"The MVP of Mill Creek’s 49-14 beatdown of North Gwinnett was Trajen Greco, and he absolutely deserved the award. The Georgia Tech commit caught five passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns on offense, made four tackles on defense, and added a 35-yard punt return on special teams.

The Yellow Jackets like Greco as a defensive back, and it’s easy to see why. Late in the first half when the game was still close, Greco flashed his range as he got across the field and hawked down a ball carrier right before the goal line after a slip pass left the defense completely exposed.

Greco, who picked off five passes as a junior, owns a promising two-sport profile having constantly scored in double figures on the hardwood this past winter. He’s someone we will be keeping a close eye on over the next few months."

Canion has also had his fair share of highlights this season.

Here are some stats and info on Canion courtesy of 247Sports Gabe Brooks:

2022: Played QB and receiver as a junior. Threw for 584 yards, five TDs, and one INT on 42-for-61 passing (68.9 percent). Added 15-32-1 rushing and 26-395-6 receiving. Produced six tackles and two INTs in limited defensive snaps. Helped Warner Robins to a 10-5 record and a Georgia 5A state runner-up finish.

2021: Finished sophomore season with 28-190-1 rushing and 5-51 receiving. Threw for 192 yards, three TDs, and one INT on 15-for-20 passing (75.0 percent).

Harpring has seen a huge rise in this recruiting cycle. When he committed to Georgia Tech during the summer, he was rated as a low three-star prospect, but is now ranked as one of the 30 best prospects in the talent-rich state of Georgia.

Harpring, son of former Georgia Tech basketball player Matt Harpring, was impressive at Georgia Tech's prospect camp on June 1st and left Atlanta with an offer.

This is one prospect who plays multiple positions and he is solid at all of them, Whether it is as a defensive end or a tight end, I think Harpring can find a way to make a difference on the field for the Yellow Jackets at some point in the future and that will likely be at tight end.

Georgia Tech currently holds the 30th-ranked class in the country, even after the recent de-commitment of four-star defensive end C.J. Jackson.
