Yes, Michigan just beat Washington in the national title game, but college football fans who were not involved in the final game have been thinking ahead to the 2024 season for some time.

When you look at the ACC going into next season, it might be the most open the conference has been in a long time. Florida State and Clemson were the heavy favorites entering last year and while Florida State won the league, they are losing a lot of talent to the NFL. Now, Mike Norvell has reloaded in the portal and has been recruiting at a solid level for a few seasons so the Seminoles should get the benefit of the doubt, but they will have to prove it. Clemson did not live up to expectations last season but is still very talented.

This season, there is not going to be a heavy favorite going into the 2024 season. A big-time team could emerge, but there are a lot of teams that could make the case to win the conference.

What about Georgia Tech?

247Sports Analyst Brad Crawford released his way too early power rankings for the ACC in 2024 and he had Georgia Tech at No. 8, behind Florida State, Louisville, Miami, NC State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, and SMU.

I actually think this is fair for the Yellow Jackets going into next season. Could they outperform this ranking? I think so, but they will have to answer some questions.

Georgia Tech should have one of the best offenses in the ACC next season, but they have to figure out a way to cut down on the turnovers. Haynes King led the ACC in interceptions and those proved costly in losses to Boston College and Bowling Green. The defense was also the ACC's worst, but Brent Key has made what appear to be good hires in hopes of addressing that issue. Those will be the biggest keys to success for Georgia Tech in 2024.

All of the teams above Georgia Tech have questions. Florida State is losing a lot of talent, Clemson refuses to get players from the transfer portal and has taken a step back as a program, Miami might have the most talented roster in the ACC, but Mario Cristobal has yet to prove he can elevate that talent, Louisville has a really good coach, but replacing a a lot of offensive talent, and NC State does not do as well when expectations are put on them. Dave Doeren is a really good coach, but the Wolfpack have a way of not performing as well when they are expected to.

The ACC could be the funnest it's been in years and Georgia Tech has a chance to make some noise.
