Bowl Projections 2023: Where is Georgia Tech Projected to Play After Loss to Georgia?
Georgia Tech fought hard for four quarters, but they came up short yesterday against No. 1 Georgia.
But unlike in recent seasons, Georgia Tech's season is not over after their game against the Bulldogs. For the first time since 2018, Georgia Tech will head to a bowl game, but they are still going to have to wait and see who they will play.
Over the past couple of weeks, there has been one common projection among the people who make bowl projections and that would be sending Georgia Tech to New York City to play in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Those have not changed this week. CBS Sports has Georgia Tech going to the Pinstripe Bowl to play Northwestern, who finished the season 7-5 yesterday. 247Sports has Georgia Tech playing in the Pinstripe Bowl as well, but facing Rutgers.
There are two different projections on ESPN. One has the Yellow Jackets going to play Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl, but the other has the Yellow Jackets going to the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte to play Kentucky.
Georgia Tech and Rutgers have only played once before and it was 102 years ago. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Scarlet Knights 48-14 in Atlanta in 1921.
Georiga Tech played against Kentucky in the 2016 Gator Bowl and they won that game 33-18.
If Georgia Tech and Northwestern are matched up against each other in the Pinstripe Bowl, it will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
There are a lot of possibilities for ACC bowl games, but it is notable that almost every national media outlet has been projecting Georgia Tech for the same bowl game for the past couple of weeks. Stay tuned right here for the latest projections for Georgia Tech's bowl game.
