Georgia Tech has had another player enter the transfer portal.

This morning, cornerback Kenan Johnson announced that he was going to enter the transfer portal and have one year of eligibility remaining.

Johnson finished the year with 29 tackles, three pass deflections, and one interception. He was the highest-graded player on the Georgia Tech defense according to PFF (Pro Football Focus), finishing with a 75.4 grade on 521 snaps.

Johnson is not the only cornerback that Georgia Tech will be losing. Myles Sims is out of eligibility. This could be a position that Georgia Tech could look to fill with their own portal additions, but they could also rely on the depth they have. Ahmari Harvey made strides this season and Omar Daniels made plays as well.

Earlier this week, Georgia Tech had its first portal entry when running back Jamie Felix announced that he intended to enter the portal.

When you glance at Felix's stats, they are not going to blow you away. 23 carries for 80 yards and an average of 3.5 yards per carry are not mindblowing, but when you watched Felix get carries toward the end of the 2022 season, he was a tough runner who showed physicality and he finished with six catches for 41 yards, showing there is potential for receiving upside.

Georgia Tech has offered three transfer portal players, including two defensive linemen.

Purdue transfer Sulaiman Kpaka announced on social media that he had received an offer from Georgia Tech.  Kpaka totaled 10 tackles this season and 2.5 sacks for the Boilermakers. According to PFF, Kpaka played 163 snaps and he ended the year with a 56.7 grade, which is below average. He would add size on the defensive line at 6'2 295 LBS and he has plenty of experience so those are two ideal things that Kpaka would bring to Atlanta.

The Yellow Jackets offered Middle Tennessee graduate transfer defensive end Zaylin Wood. Wood played his high school football in the state of Georgia at Heard County High School and he has one year of eligibility remaining. He played four seasons for the Blue Raiders and totaled 10 sacks during his time there. He had 6.5 sacks in 2022 and three this season. He was an All Conference USA honorable mention in 2022.

His best performance in 2022 came in perhaps the biggest win in MTSU history. Wood collected two sacks, 2.0 TFLs, a fumble recovery, and an interception he returned 15 yards for a touchdown in the win at Miami.

Another offer that Georgia Tech sent out this week was to another MTSU player, but not a defensive lineman.

Keylan Rutledge, who played at Franklin County High School in Georgia, entered the transfer portal yesterday and just a few hours later, announced on social media that he had been offered by the Yellow Jackets.

Rutledge was a starter at guard for the Blue Raiders, was on the CUSA Preseason Watch List, and was a permanent team captain for MTSU. With starting right guard Connor Scaglione out of eligibility, Rutledge could come in and compete for the Yellow Jackets.
