Georgia Tech Freshman Offensive Lineman Elias Cloy Enters the Transfer Portal
Georgia Tech freshman offensive lineman Elias Cloy is going to enter the transfer portal according to Rivals Kelly Quinlan.
Cloy was a talented freshman coming out of Alpharetta High School and was a part of the 2023 recruiting class for the Yellow Jackets.
From his bio at Georgia Tech Athletics:
"Rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN … Is the No. 80 ranked offensive guard in the nation by ESPN … Attended St. Francis H.S. in Alpharetta for two years before transferring to Alpharetta H.S. as a junior … All-state performer … Four-time all-region selection, including first-team as a junior and senior at Alpharetta … Lettered all four years of his prep career … Served as a team captain for three seasons – as a sophomore at St. Francis in 2020 and as a junior and senior at Alpharetta in 2021 and 2022 … Coached at Alpharetta by Jason Kervin … Offensive coordinator at Alpharetta was former Georgia Tech quarterback TaQuon Marshall … Honor roll student."
Cloy now joins running back Jamie Felix, wide receiver Juju Lewis, offensive linemen Wing Green, and Tyler Gibson, defensive linemen Kyle Kennard, Bryston Dixon, Jason Moore, and Malcolm Pugh, and cornerback Kenan Johnson as players that have entered the transfer portal from Georgia Tech.
Best of luck to Elias wherever he lands!
Georgia Tech has made five impactful additions through the portal, all at positions of need. They landed a commitment from MTSU guard Keylan Rutledge (an all-conference guard), tight ends Jackson Hawes (Yale) and Ryland Goede (Georgia and Mississippi State), linebacker Jackson Hamilton (Louisville), and cornerback Warren Burrell (Tennessee). I think that all five guys will be instant impact players and at minimum, will bring experience.
