Georgia Tech Releases Depth Chart for Game vs Syracuse

No changes on the depth chart for Georgia Tech ahead of facing Syracuse

A huge opportunity awaits Georgia Tech on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets are one win away from bowl eligibility and the Syracuse Orange are the team standing in the way of that opportunity. Syracuse is looking to get bowl-eligible themselves and won their first ACC game last week against Pitt.

Tuesday is when Georgia Tech releases its depth chart for its upcoming game and they did that today.

There were no surprises this week for Georgia Tech.

Haynes King is listed as the starter at quarterback and while he had arguably his worst game of the season against the Clemson Tigers, King has been one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC this season and done a lot of really good things this season. He will have to be better this week against the Orange.

The running back position is no different. All three players (Jamal Haynes, Dontae Smith, and Trey Cooley) are listed as the starters. Haynes and Smith have been the top two ball carriers for Georgia Tech over the last few weeks and I don't anticipate that changing.

Malik Rutherford is listed as the starter at one spot, while the other two remain with an "or" designation. Abdul Janneh or Dominick Blaylock will start at the X receiver position and Eric Singleton Jr or Chase Lane will be the starter at the other spot. Singleton Jr has been the top receiver for Georiga Tech this year.

Dylan Leonard is listed as the starting tight end and Leonard caught his first career touchdown last weekend. Luke Benson (a Syracuse transfer) and Brett Seither will still get snaps as well.

The offensive line is no different. Ethan Mackenny, Joe Fusile, Weston Franklin, Connor Scaglione, and Jordan Williams are the starters on the line.

No changes to the Georgia Tech depth chart this week

On the defensive line, Georgia Tech will start Makius Scott at end, D'Quan Douse and Zeek Biggers on the interior, and either Kyle Kennard or Kevin Harris at the rush position.

Paul Moala and Trenilyas Tatum are listed as the starters at linebacker, but there will be plenty of snaps to go around at this position, with guys like Kyle Efford going to play plenty.

K.J. Wallace is listed as the starter at nickel, while Myles Sims and Ahmari Harvey are listed as the starters at cornerback. Harvey missed the game last week against Clemson, but Key is hopeful to get him back this week. LaMiles Brooks is listed as the starter at strong safety, while either Jaylon King or Clayton Powell-Lee will be at the free safety position.

Aidan Birr is listed as the starter at kicker and David Shanahan will be the punter.

Georgia Tech vs Syracuse will kick off at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday on the ACC Network.
