Georgia Tech vs Clemson Game Time Put on a Six Day Hold by the ACC
Georgia Tech is fresh off of a win against North Carolina on Saturday and Brent Key's team is now getting ready to face Virginia on the road. While the Yellow Jackets might be fully focused on the Cavaliers, the game time for their game against rival Clemson was announced today.
Well kind of.
The ACC elected to put a six day hold on the game time for Georgia Tech and Clemson. They will not announce a game time until Sunday. The other games that were put on a six day hold include Miami vs Florida State and Duke vs North Carolina.
It has been an uncharacteristically bad season for Dabo Swinney and the Tigers. They are currently 4-4 after their most recent loss to NC State and it is anyone's guess how this team will finish the season. They have been the premier program in the ACC for the last decade, but this is the most vulnerable this team has looked since Swinney first took over as the head coach.
This has been a rivalry that has been tilted heavily in Clemson's favor recently. The Tigers have won eight in a row and only one of the games has been decided by single digits (2021). Georgia Tech almost stunned Clemson the last time this game was in Death Valley though. The last victory in the series for the Yellow Jackets came in 2014. The overall series still belongs to Georgia Tech, who leads it 50-35.
This is the best chance that Georgia Tech has had to end the losing streak in this rivalry in some time. The Yellow Jackets have yet to find consistency as a team, but they have gotten up for games in which they are an underdog, which they are most certainly going to be in this game. Clemson could be coming off of their third straight loss if they lose to Notre Dame this weekend and might not be ready for a game against a team that is going to play hard like Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech vs Virginia will kick off at 2:00 p.m. on the CW Network this Saturday.
