Georgia Tech vs Mississippi State: Start time, where to watch and listen, betting odds
Georgia Tech started off the year 2-0 with wins over Georgia Southern and Howard, but have dropped their last two. One was a close loss to UMass Lowell and the other was a blowout loss to Cincinnati on the road last week. There have been some growing pains so far in Damon Stoudamire's first season and they are going to face their biggest test of the season up to this point.
Tonight is the beginning of the ACC/SEC Challenge and Mississippi State is coming to Atlanta to face the Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs are 6-0 this season and were ranked No. 21 in the latest AP Poll. In the KenPom Rankings, Mississippi State is No. 19 and Georgia Tech is No. 152. It is going to be a big challenge tonight for Stoudamire's team.
It should be noted that Georgia Tech is still not fully healthy. They were able to get freshman Baye Ndongo back against Cincinnati and he started. Guard Lance Terry is still out.
Georgia Tech and Mississippi State, former conference brethren in the Southern Conference (1922-32) and then the Southeastern Conference (1932-64), are meeting for the 30th time in basketball, but it’s the first meeting since Dec. 19, 1975, when the Yellow Jackets took a 64-61 decision in Starkville.
Since leaving the SEC after the 1963-64 season, the Jackets have won three of the four meetings. Two of those took place during the 1964-65 season, both won by Tech, followed by single meetings in 1973 (MSU win) and 1975.
