Look: Georgia Tech Football Is In The Midst Of Winter Workouts
Just one month ago, Georgia Tech was defeating UCF, winning their first bowl game since 2016 and capping off a nice first season under Brent Key. In college football though, there is not much time before you are moving on to the next season and Georgia Tech is currently in the midst of winter workouts according to their latest social media posts.
From the day that he was hired, Brent Key has stressed that Georgia Tech is going to compete every single time that they step on the field and you can hear that being stressed here.
The 2024 season opener is now less than seven months away. The Yellow Jackets will face Florida State in week zero of the college football season and their matchup in Dublin, Ireland is going to be the first big game of the season. Florida State is coming off of a 13-0 regular season and ACC Championship and will be favored to win another conference title. This has a chance to be a strong start for Georgia Tech and a huge victory for the program, but one thing is for sure, it will not come easy.
There are reasons for optimism next year for Georgia Tech. They finished the 2023 season strong and with one of the best offenses in the ACC. They return the bulk of the production on offense, including quarterback Haynes King, who just might be the best quarterback in the ACC. The concerns are going to be about the defense, which was the worst in the ACC last season. Key has hired new assistants Jess Simpson (defensive line), Tyler Santucci (defensive coordinator/inside linebackers), and Kyle Pope (outside linebackers) in hopes of engineering a turnaround on that side of the ball.
There is still a way to go before we get to the 2024 season, but the Yellow Jackets are already hard at work preparing.
