Brent Key was able to accomplish quite a bit in 2023. He led his alma mater to a bowl game victory and a winning season, pulling some big upsets along the way and also keeping the game against No. 1 Georgia competitive. The Yellow Jackets won their first bowl game since 2016 and this program has some forward momentum for the first time in what feels like a long time. Georgia Tech is going to be returning several impact starters from the 2023 team and has a chance to build on its success next season.

When appearing on college sports radio on SiriusXM, Brent Key talked about the momentum the program has and the leadership coming back, while also mentioning that every season is new and the challenges that come with that:

"You know, you want to talk about momentum, you want to talk about continued success that you have, because you do get momentum rolling at the end of the year and you do want to get that rolling into your offseason workouts, but at the same time it is a different team. We will have 31 different guys that will go out and dress out for spring practice and summer camp and play for us this year, so it is a totally different team.

It is a different mindset, it is a different group of guys, it is different people in the locker room. Thankfully, a lot of leadership from that locker room is back and I think that is important, but you can't really... you can't ride the wave of it, you can't lean on it, I think you can use it as motivation for the team, you know, the reminder of what it is like, but look what happened in the Louisville game that we played last year. We had momentum for a half and then we didn't so... whether it is momentum in a game or momentum in a year, it is one of those things you have to understand that every play is a new play, every day is a new day, every year is a new year, and you have to constantly not forget how you got to where you were."
