Updated ACC Standings: Week Five
Week four is now in the books in the ACC and the contenders are starting to separate themselves as conference play heats up.
While some teams are still playing non-conference games, there were some who either started or continued conference play this week. No team got a bigger win this weekend than Florida State.
The Seminoles were able to snap its losing streak against Clemson and now sit at 2-0 in conference play heading into their bye week. FSU is on top of the conference and is the top playoff contender in the ACC.
Louisville had a great day on the offensive side of the ball against Boston College, as quarterback Jack Plummer threw for five touchdowns and nearly 400 yards. Louisville faces NC State this weekend as they look to reach 3-0 in ACC play.
Duke is still 1-0 in ACC play and 4-0 overall. The Blue Devils wrap up non-conference play next week against Notre Dame as College Gameday comes to town for the first time for one of the biggest games in school history.
North Carolina got their first conference win of the season by beating Pitt on Saturday. The Tar Heels are off this upcoming week.
NC State and Georgia Tech got their first conference wins of the year, as they beat Virginia and Wake Forest. NC State has a tough game against Louisville next week while Georgia Tech faces Bowling Green in Atlanta.
Miami, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech have yet to play a conference game and are still 0-0. Miami and Syracuse wrapped up non-conference play 4-0 while the Hokies looked miserable in a loss to Marshall and are 1-3. Syracuse plays Clemson next week, while Miami is off.
Wake Forest, Pitt, and Virginia are each 0-1 after losing their first conference game this week.
Boston College and Clemson are 0-2 at the start of ACC play. It is the first time since 2010 that the Tigers are 0-2 to start conference play.
