Sportsbook odds makers don't have the highest of hopes for the No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs to come out on top at the 2023 Maui Invitational.

FanDuel lists Gonzaga at +950 odds to win the premier multi-team event of the 2023-24 season, behind No. 1 Kansas (+175), No. 7 Tennessee (+320), No. 2 Purdue (+340) and No. 4 Marquette (+500). Only UCLA (+2000) and Syracuse (+5000) have longer odds listed.

The Zags (2-0) enter the tournament six days after another historic victory over NAIA member Eastern Oregon on Tuesday, when they set the program record for made field goals (52) in the 123-57 win. Graham Ike's 25 points led a trio of Bulldogs who finished with 20 or more points, as Braden Huff chipped in 23 and Anton Watson finished with 20. All 12 Gonzaga players scored and played at least eight minutes.

That likely won't be the case in Hawaii, though, where the Bulldogs take on No. 2 Purdue and reigning Wooden Award trophy recipient, Zach Edey. The 7-foot-3 All-American dominated in last season's head-to-head meeting in Portland, as he dropped 23 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field to lead the Boilermakers to an 18-point victory. Coach Matt Painter returns all five starters from that game and brings in freshman Myles Colvin (8.3 ppg) and transfer Lance Jones (9.7 ppg).

On the other side of the bracket, Kansas is favored to win the program's fourth Maui Invitational. The Jayhawks head to Hawaii on the heels of an impressive win over No. 17 Kentucky in the Champions Classic on Tuesday. Hunter Dickinson finished with 27 points and 21 rebounds, the first 20-20 game against the Wildcats in the last 25 years, while Kevin McCullar Jr. had the third official triple-double in Kansas history with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the 89-84 win.
