The No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs face their first daunting test early in the 2023-24 season on Monday, when they take on the No. 2 Purdue Boilermakers at the Maui Invitational.

The Zags (2-0) look for their 14th all-time win at the Maui Invitational against the reigning Wooden Award winner, Zach Edey. Purdue's 7-foot-3 post led the way in the previous head-to-head meeting, an 18-point win over the Zags in the Phil Knight Invitational last season. Edey had 23 points in the win while his teammates knocked down 10 3-pointers.

Regardless of the outcome, the ensuing days will pit the Bulldogs against stiff competition. They'll take on either No. 7 Tennessee or Syracuse on Tuesday, and should they advance to the championship game on Wednesday, they could face one of No. 1 Kansas, No. 4 Marquette or UCLA.

Former Gonzaga All-Americans Dan Dickau and Adam Morrison broke down the Bulldogs' strategy against Purdue and the rest of the Maui Invitational field on a new episode of Talking Zags.
