Adam Morrison likes the additions of Washington State, Oregon State to the West Coast Conference

Cougars and Beavers are set to be affiliate members in basketball starting next season

The West Coast Conference made an aggressive move when it voted to add Oregon State and Washington State for most non-football sports, as the former Pac-12 schools will join the league as affiliate members beginning with the 2024-25 season.

The expansion to 11 teams is significant, as the Cougars and Beavers will be eligible to compete for WCC Tournament championships over the course of the next two seasons. With the possibility that Gonzaga men's basketball leaves for a power conference, securing two more schools was an important move for WCC commissioner Stu Jackson, who told Gonzaga Nation in the summer that he intended to add more programs to bolster the level of competition in men's basketball.

Former Gonzaga All-American Adam Morrison breaks down what the additions of the Cougars and Beavers mean for Gonzaga and the WCC in a recent episode of The Perimeter.
