Could Gonzaga's Steele Venters come back next season?
Heartbreaking news came out just prior to the season opener for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, as it was confirmed that Steele Venters will be out for the season with a torn ACL he suffered in practice.
The 6-foot-7 wing by way of Eastern Washington was slated for an impactful role as a projected starter for Mark Few. Venters was named the Big Sky Player of the Year last season after averaging 15.7 points per game with the Eagles. He developed into an efficient shooter from beyond the arc over his four seasons in Cheney, as he knocked down 40.3% of his 3-point attempts.
The former walk-on from Ellensburg won't have an opportunity to suit up for his redshirt junior season, but there's still a chance Venters could play at Gonzaga following a full recovery.
Former Gonzaga All-American Dan Dickau breaks down Venters' options moving forward, as well as his favorite lineup he's seen from Gonzaga early in the season, on a mailbag episode of Gonzaga Nation.
