David Stockton on Gonzaga's growth heading into WCC Tournament: 'I see a team that’s coming together at the right time'

Some fans and prognosticators forget that this isn't the first time the Gonzaga Bulldogs had to fight through ups and downs in the regular season before putting it all together in March.

Flashback to 10 years ago, Gonzaga was in jeopardy of missing the NCAA Tournament heading into the West Coast Conference Tournament. It had suffered six losses in the regular season, including two questionable ones against Portland and San Diego in league play, while dealing with injury bugs throughout the season. Five players returned from the previous 2012-13 squad that was ranked No. 1 at one point, though essentially all of them were taking on new roles and responsibilities.

The Bulldogs' postseason aspirations boiled down to the conference tournament in Las Vegas, where senior guard David Stockton hit one of the most important shots in program history to defeat Santa Clara, 77-75, in the quarterfinals. Gonzaga would go on to win the tournament and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, quite the run considering the circumstances.

Stockton joined Talking Zags to break down what he's seen from this season's squad, his time playing at Gonzaga and much more.
