Gary Parrish: 'The Graham Ike addition didn't get enough attention nationally'
The college basketball world didn't pay much attention when Gonzaga landed Graham Ike back in April. The 6-foot-9 Wyoming transfer made the move the same day Creighton point guard Ryan Nembhard decided to join Mark Few's Bulldogs. It also didn't help that no one saw Ike play last season due to a foot injury.
But before he was forced to sit out all of 2022-23, Ike was named the preseason Mountain West Conference Player of the Year. He averaged 19.6 points and 9.5 rebounds on a Cowboys squad that appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in seven years. Ike earned an all-conference second-team nod for those efforts, but at Gonzaga, he's being considered as one of the best big men in the country going into the 2023-24 season.
"The Graham Ike addition didn't get enough attention nationally," said CBS Sports college basketball analyst Gary Parrish.
On the latest episode of the Gonzaga Nation podcast, former All-American Dan Dickau talks to Parrish about Ike's importance to the Bulldogs and much more.
