No. 13 Gonzaga and Loyola Marymount meet for the first time since LMU upset the Zags in Spokane earlier this season

No. 13 Gonzaga saw its NCAA Division 1 record 75-game home win streak come to an end in January with a shocking 68-67 loss against Loyola Marymount, and now the Bulldogs will have a chance for revenge when they visit LMU for a rematch Thursday (February 16).

Gonzaga (21-5, 10-2 WCC) is 5-1 since being upset by LMU on January 19 and comes into this matchup on the heels of an 88-81 win over BYU last Saturday that helped propel the Bulldogs to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll. 

That game marked the final time Gonzaga and BYU met in the regular season as conference opponents as the Cougars prepare to join the Big 12 next year. 

Julian Strawther led the way for the Bulldogs with a game-high 26 points in the win and was one of four Zags to finish in double digits. 

Prior to the matchup with BYU, Gonzaga cruised to a 99-81 win on the road against San Francisco to notch its 26th consecutive 20-win season. That streak ranks second for the longest active run in the country of 20-win seasons behind Kansas's 32.

The Zags currently lead the country in two categories averaging 86.3 points per game and shooting 52% from the field. 

Loyola Marymount (17-10, 7-6 WCC) did the Bulldogs a favor last week upsetting St. Mary's in overtime on Thursday before closing the week out with a 71-69 loss on the road against Santa Clara Saturday.

This rematch marks the 101st all-time meeting between Gonzaga and LMU. The Bulldogs own a 78-22 advantage in the series and have won 29 of the last 31 meetings.

The Lions' win in January snapped a 25-game series winning streak for the Zags.
