How to watch Gonzaga men's basketball vs. Mississippi Valley State
The No. 10 Gonzaga Bulldogs are back in the McCarthey Athletic Center to host Mississippi Valley State on Monday night.
The Zags (7-2) return home following a 78-73 loss to Washington on Saturday, as they squandered an 11-point lead in the second half due to an extended cold stretch of shooting in crunch time. Gonzaga shot 25.9% from the field in the second half and missed 11 of its last 12 field goal attempts, while the Huskies got timely baskets from Keion Brooks Jr. and Shavir Wheeler to squeak out a narrow win in Seattle. Graham Ike led all scorers with 18 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field.
Meanwhile, the Delta Devils (0-9) are looking for their first win of the season amid a tough nonconference slate that features Oklahoma, UConn, TCU, Gonzaga and Baylor, all on the road. Mississippi Valley State ranks last in the country according to KenPom at No. 362, with the worst offense and 355th-best defense. Coming off a 5-27 record, the Delta Devils were picked to finish last in the Southwestern Athletic Conference for the fifth straight season.
Monday marks the second of three nonconference games this season against SWAC opponents for the Bulldogs, who are 17-0 against the league and 14-0 under Mark Few. Gonzaga defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff last week and will face Jackson State at home on Dec. 20.
