Isiah Harwell, 5-star 2025 recruit, schedules Gonzaga visit for February
Isiah Harwell, a top-10 recruit in the 2025 class, has scheduled his first official visit with the Gonzaga Bulldogs on the weekend of Feb. 3, according to 247Sports.com.
The 6-foot-6 guard out of Wasatch Academy (Utah) will be on campus for Gonzaga's home game against preseason No. 23 Saint Mary's in a potential top-25 matchup against West Coast Conference powerhouses. Harwell is also reportedly in the process of scheduling an official visit to Alabama.
Harwell is among the top recruits in the 2025 class across all recruiting databases. He's the No. 1 player in the state of Utah according to 247Sports, On3.com and ESPN. He is also a five-star recruit and one of the top-three junior shooting guards in the country.
Gonzaga offered Harwell a scholarship in April, though there are a handful of other schools in the mix. UCLA, Auburn, Houston, Villanova, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Ohio State, Baylor, Alabama, Texas, Cal, Michigan, North Carolina and BYU have all contacted Harwell since the direct contact period began. And even though the Zags got into the mix later than some of the other premier programs, don't count out Mark Few just yet.
On3.com gives the Bulldogs the best chance at landing Harwell, followed by BYU and Idaho State. Wasatch Academy has been known to develop blue-chip recruits in recent years, including Gonzaga guard Nolan Hickman, the 22nd-ranked player in the class of 2021. It isn't a one-for-one comparison between the two; at 6-foot-6, Harwell profiles as the typical Gonzaga guard who has the size to play off the ball along the perimeter.
Few likes playing three-guard lineups whenever possible, especially if they're capable ball-handlers. Dusty Stromer (6-foot-7) and Luka Krajnovic (6-foot-5) are current examples of that mold. With Harwell in the mix, Gonzaga's potential backcourt for the future poses an abundance of size and versatility.
Harwell is the third known target in the 2025 class according to 247Sports, joining four-star forward Nik Khamenia (Harvard-Westlake) and five-star guard Jalen Haralson (La Lumiere School).
