John Stockton on why Gonzaga needs to embrace underdog mentality: 'Humility makes you hungrier'

Gonzaga legend John Stockton joined the latest episode of Talking Zags

For a long time now, the West Coast Conference has gone through the Gonzaga Bulldogs

Over the last 25 seasons Mark Few's program has won 20 conference tournament championships, at least a share of the league regular season title 20 times and had 11 WCC Player of the Year recipients. It's a run unlike any other in the sport - but with that success comes a price.

Players have noted, and welcomed, the pressure of wearing the Gonzaga uniform. Every opponent is ready to give it their best effort in hopes of dethroning the kingpin, which is exactly what happened when Saint Mary's came into The Kennel on Saturday night and walked out in sole possession of first place in the league standings.

NBA Hall of Fame point guard and former Gonzaga star John Stockton joined Talking Zags to discuss how the Bulldogs can flip the switch mentally heading down the stretch of the regular season.

"Humility makes you hungrier,” Stockton said on Talking Zags. “We’re the hungry dog at the bottom of the hill right now, and I think that’s what we need."
