Sean Farnham calls Gonzaga's Ben Gregg 'a difference maker' in the starting lineup
LAS VEGAS - One of the biggest turning points in the Gonzaga Bulldogs' season came days after their crushing road loss to Santa Clara on January 11.
In need of a spark following the team's fifth loss, Mark Few turned to his high-motor junior forward Ben Gregg to replace Dusty Stromer in the starting lineup. Gregg averaged 18 minutes off the bench leading up to his first start on Jan. 18 against Pepperdine.
Since Gregg became the full-time starter, Gonzaga ranks fifth in the country in offensive efficiency (it ranked 34th before the move) and has the highest effective field goal percentage in the nation over the last 15 games. The offense has taken care of the ball with the second-lowest turnover percentage in the country and has the fifth-best 2-point field goal percentage. Much of that has to do with Gregg's energy on the glass and ability to make the right hustle plays when his team needs it the most.
'In life you can be a fountain or you can be a drink; Ben Gregg is a fountain,' said ESPN's Sean Farnham on the latest episode of Talking Zags. 'He gives an edge ... he makes so many right hustle plays.'
Farnham joined the latest episode of Talking Zags to break down Gregg's impact in his starting role and much more with former All-Americans Dan Dickau and Adam Morrison. Watch the full episode in the video above.
