Should Gonzaga men's basketball fans push the panic button? Former Zag Cory Violette tells fans to 'relax'
The standard for Gonzaga men's basketball has far surpassed that of most mid-major and Big 6 programs. Twenty-four consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament have the Bulldogs expecting deep postseason runs year after year. And for the first time in a while, the pressure that comes with carrying on such an important legacy is at the forefront.
"It's been interesting in my line of work. I get a lot of phone calls this time of year that are not related to what I do for my clients, more like 'what's going on with this team?'" said former Gonzaga standout Cory Violette. "But what I try to think about is, what if this was us and they were talking about us like that?"
"You think about the pressure these teams now are under for GU, it's so different. It's just so different. The expectation is so high."
"Before we push the panic button let's all relax a little bit," said Violette. "They're still a really good basketball team."
Violette broke down Gonzaga's path to the NCAA Tournament on the latest episode of Talking Zags with Dan Dickau and Adam Morrison.
