Gonzaga men's basketball recruiting target Trent Perry, a four-star recruit in the 2024 class, committed to the USC Trojans on Friday.

The Harvard-Westlake (California) product announced his college decision during the Top Flight Invite streamed on ESPN+. He chose the Trojans over Gonzaga, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford and TCU.

Perry, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound point guard, is a consensus top-60 player in the country across all major recruiting databases. ESPN and On3.com viewed him as a top-10 floor general in the class, while Rivals.com had him at No. 12.

USC landed its second recruit from the 2024 class, as Perry will join three-star guard Liam Campbell in Los Angeles next fall. The Trojans continue to thrive on the recruiting trail under head coach Andy Enfield, who reeled in his 22nd ESPN Top 100 player after bringing in the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in 2023. USC has made three straight NCAA Tournaments and looks to be in good hands with a bright future going forward.

Perry, who visited USC's campus three times in his recruitment process, stated how impressed he was with the Trojans' vision for the future in an interview with 247Sports:

“It was cool to see their plan for the future. They have been talking to me about it for a couple of months and it has been pretty cool to see it unfold. With Boogie Ellis coming back and Isaiah Collier and Bronny James coming, their plan is for me to fill in the role for them and be their starting point guard.”

Meanwhile, Gonzaga's coaching staff turns its attention to other targets in the 2024 and 2025 classes. The main focus of the weekend is The Border League preseason tournament in Las Vegas to watch five-star point guard Zoom Diallo and four-star forward Nik Khamenia. Asa Newell, one of the top power forwards in the 2024 class, and Isaiah Harwell will also be names to watch.
