What Gonzaga coach Mark Few said after win over Santa Clara: 'Our offense was clicking at a really, really high level'

Bulldogs beat the Broncos, 94-81, in their final home game

Before they could look ahead to a pivotal final week of the regular season, the Gonzaga Bulldogs had quite the fight on their hands on Saturday in their 94-81 win over the Santa Clara Broncos.

"They gave us everything they got there," said Mark Few after the game. "I mean we had our hands full and had a real problem, especially in the first half stopping them. But, fortunately for us, our offense was clicking at a really, really high level. But yeah, [Santa Clara] is a really, really good basketball team."

Here's more of what Few had to say following Gonzaga's sixth-straight win:

On Dusty Stromer's performance:

"It was a great night. In fact I told the team afterward that that's the guy we recruited. That's the guy who started the year for us, making plays like that, and just doing everything. And that's the beauty of Dusty, it's not just 3s it's the flying around getting putbacks, making plays on defense. Just doing everything, he fills the box."

On the team's growth since loss to Santa Clara earlier this season:

"I feel like our offense is more purposeful and [we have] a little bit better understanding, especially when we play three bigs. We had that out there for a time in stretches during that [Santa Clara] game and we were a little disjointed. Ryan's used to playing with Graham now, Graham's used to playing with Ben, and I think all those different combinations we're just working our way through that. We're much more cohesive on that end, but also settled in on some good defensive coverages and certainly looked better in the second half than they did in the first."

On Anton Watson's final home game and his growth:

"Without his sidekick Drew [Timme] around, he's had to really, you know, own a lot of these big possessions down the stretch of these games and he's done it. He's done it, you know, masterfully and even tonight, he got off to a slow start, picked up a couple of tough fouls, but he didn't, you know, we didn't lose him for the game. We got him back in there and he was a big factor obviously in that second half and I think there's your sign of growth just, just right there and he just impacts games in just so many different ways of steals off the ball. He does everything really, really well and it's, it's getting more and more rare to find players like that, quite frankly."
