Zoom Diallo commits to Washington Huskies

Top-ranked point guard in 2024 class chose UW over in-state rival Gonzaga

Zoom Diallo, the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2024 according to 247Sports, committed to the Washington Huskies men's basketball program on Saturday.

Diallo was Gonzaga's top 2024 target. He made the announcement at the Rhodes Center in Tacoma, Washington, surrounded by his family.

Diallo, a native of Tacoma, chose the Huskies over Arizona, USC and Gonzaga. He had taken official visits with all four of his finalists.

The 6-foot-4 guard visited Spokane last January and was in attendance to watch Gonzaga demolish Portland at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

"They really install whatever their game plan is, whatever their system is going to be for that game; they really work on that with their guards in and out of practice," Diallo told SBLive Sports about the visit. "They’re really involved in developing their guards, and that really stood out to me."

Diallo transferred to Prolific Prep (California) after leading Curtis High School (Washington) to back-to-back Washington high school boys basketball state championships. He averaged 20.2 points, 5.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds in his junior year with the Vikings, vaulting him to near the top of 247Sports' 2024 player rankings.

Diallo has above-average size and strength for a ball handler, coupled with mature instincts and elite body control. He excels when using ball screens, enabling him to either score inside the paint or set up his teammates.

He also has a smooth jump shot, making him a threat both off the catch and the dribble from beyond the arc. His ability to pull up from long range allows him to score the moment he finds an opening.

Diallo had been one of Gonzaga's top recruiting priorities dating back to his days at Curtis High School. In the fall, the coaching staff visited the five-star recruit in Napa, California, on a few occasions.

Diallo would have been just the fifth five-star recruit in Gonzaga men's basketball history, joining Chet Holmgren, Jalen Suggs, Hunter Sallis and Zach Collins.
