Look: Gonzaga's Anton Watson posterizes San Diego with two-hand slam
SPOKANE - Gonzaga senior Anton Watson had eight points in the first half against San Diego on Thursday night, with two of his four field goals coming on dunk attempts.
Up 20-12, Watson gave Gonzaga a double-digit lead after finishing off an alley-oop pass from Rasir Bolton on the baseline.
A few possessions later, Watson found a crease in the Toreros' zone defense as he made himself available underneath the hoop. Hunter Sallis found Watson on the baseline before the senior elevated over 6-foot-10 center Steven Jameson II, resulting in a foul and a fired-up McCarthey Athletic Center.
Drew Timme couldn't hold in his excitement for his teammate, either, as the Zags took a 31-19 lead.
