April 1 has long been a day to be wary of things you read online. Of course, sometimes teams can have a little harmless April Fool's fun on social media.

The Florida Atlantic Owls' football program did something in that vein on Monday. The team's account posted a graphic to X with a football field complete with FAU logos superimposed on an aircraft carrier. The post also noted that the program's rivalry matchup with the South Florida Bulls, scheduled for Friday, November 1, would take place on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The post admittedly fooled some on first glance, with multiple X users posting replies to the effect of "almost had me." Others had humorous replies, such as @War_Wilhelm who wrote "what happens when the receiver runs too far out of bounds?"

Over one million people have viewed the post as of noon ET on Monday.

The real matchup between the Owls and Bulls will be played in Boca Raton's FAU Stadium on Friday, November 1 with a kickoff time yet to be determined. FAU leads the all-time series 3-2 with FAU taking 2023's meeting 56-14.
