Per the CFL transaction wire, the Edmonton Elks have moved defensive lineman Chauncey Manac to the retired list.

Manac was a second-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2021 for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns when he had 10.5 sacks - one shy of the program record.

Manac had previously been a member of the Green Bay Packers and the Houston Roughnecks, but did not appear in a regular season game for either. The Georgia native did appear in two preseason games for the Packers in 2022.

Manac originally signed with Georgia coming out of high school in 2016, but did not appear in a game. He spent one season at Garden City Community College in Kansas before transferring to Louisiana. He totaled 34 tackles for loss, 19.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and once interception in four seasons with Louisiana.

The Elks signed Manac in January 2024. By moving him to the retired list, they retain the rights to Manac's contract, should he attempt a comeback in the CFL.
