It has now been an entire decade since the Memphis Tigers last missed the postseason. It's the longest active streak in the Group of Five.

Ryan Silverfield coached his team to a 45-42 win at North Texas on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers survived a furious comeback from the Mean Green, who trailed 31-7 in the second quarter.

The Tigers had 600 yards of offense in the win compared to UNT's 630. Running back Blake Watson had 169 rushing yards on 17 carries as well as five catches for 100 receiving yards.

Quarterback Seth Henigan completed 22 passes on 28 attempts for 330 yards. His only touchdown pass of the night was to Joseph Scates to retake the lead with 11 seconds remaining.

Since 2014, the Tigers have won at least six games every season. They're 3-5 in the bowls they've reached. The Tigers won their first two bowls under Silverfield in 2020 and 2022. Memphis travelled to Hawaii for the Hawaii bowl in 2021, but the game was cancelled due to University of Hawaii players testing positive for COVID-19.

Memphis are 6-2 on the year with a 3-1 record in AAC play. They'll continue their season on November 4 when they host South Florida.
