When the Marshall Thundering Herd withdrew from the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs filled the spot despite a 5-7 record. Sonny Cumbie's group had their work cut out for them from the jump against the AAC champions.

Army quarterback Bryson Daily rushed for 127 yard yards and three touchdowns in his final college game, setting a new FBS record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season with 32. He led the #22 Black Knights to a 27-6 victory on Saturday night in Shreveport.

Army found themselves up 21-3 at the half, after forcing LA Tech into three punts and allowing the Bulldogs to hold the ball for only seven and a half minutes. The first half also included a 21-play drive by the Black Knights that went 75 yards for a touchdown and over 12 minutes.

In the second half, it was a similar story, though the Black Knights did lose a fumble in the fourth quarter and miss a field goal. In Louisiana Tech's four second half possessions, the Bulldogs kicked another field goal, threw an interception in Army's end zone, and turned it over on downs twice.

Army finished with 386 yards of offense and held the ball for over 40 minutes of game time. In addition to Daily's efforts, running back Hayden Reed added 114 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

For the first time in 131 seasons of Army football, the Black Knights have won a total of 12 games, finishing 2024 with a record of 12-2.
