The UTSA football program saw one of its seniors hit a major milestone on Saturday.

Wide receiver Joshua Cephus became the program's new career receptions leader during UTSA's win over UAB on Saturday. Cephus finished the game with seven catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns.

This puts Cephus at 269 career receptions. Cephus moved past former Roadrunner Zakhari Franklin, who transferred to Ole Miss this past offseason.

Cephus is averaging 7.5 catches per game, which theoretically means he could finish the regular season with 314 catches.

With six games remaining in the regular season, Cephus is also just over 400 yards shy of the program's career receiving record of 3,349. That record is also held by Zakhari Franklin.

Cephus is a native of Spring, Texas and is in his fifth season at UTSA. In 2022, he was a Second-Team All-Conference USA selection at wide receiver and an honorable mention all-league choice at punt returner.

UTSA, now 3-3 and 2-0 in AAC play, continue their season at FAU on October 21.
