As expected, one of the loudest and most physical contests of the weekend came from the showdown between UTSA and Texas State in the Alamodome. The Roadrunners emerged with the win in the by a final score of 20-13.

Jeff Traylor coached his team to a win against his former pupil in GJ Kinne. Kinne actually played for Traylor as a high school student.

Despite periodic absences in this game, UTSA quarterback Frank Harris battled to finish with 26 completions on 37 attempts for 214 yards and a touchdown. The Texas State defense made the day particularly hard for him, picking up five sacks on the evening.

Fortunately for Harris, the UTSA defense totaled six sacks of their own.

UTSA sophomore running back Kevorian Barnes had his sixth 100-yard rushing game of his college career. Barnes carried the ball 16 times for 103 yards and a touchdown.

The Roadrunners are now 5-0 all-time in their rivalry with Texas State.

After a historic win against Baylor in Week One, the Bobcats are now 1-1 to start the year. Kinne's squad converted just three out of 14 third downs and had 13 first downs compared to UTSA's 28.

The Bobcats also mustered just 31 rushing yards on 29 attempts. Both teams had Tackle-For-Loss counts in the double digits in this contest.

UTSA will have a short week this week with a Friday night home game against Army.

Texas State continue their season on Saturday, September 16 when they host FCS foe Jackson State.
