Memphis redshirt senior defensive lineman Andres Fox was ejected from Memphis' Friday loss to Tulane. Fox appeared to punch Tulane offensive lineman Josh Remetich and was awarded a flagrant personal foul.

Memphis head coach Ryan Silverfield was asked about the incident and other mental mistakes his team made during his postgame press conference.

"The unnecessary roughness, that's inexcusable," Silverfield noted. "That is not us. I am very, very, very disappointed in the individual that did it. He will be handled appropriately, and that's not us. My apologies to our fans, my apologies to Tulane for that B.S. move on our part, and we will get that fixed. There is no room for that in college football. There is no room for that in the Memphis program. Anybody that has been around me understands that is not what we believe in. That makes me sick to my stomach."

You can hear Silverfield's comments at the 8:06 mark of the video embedded below.

Fox is in his first year with the Memphis program after time at Stanford and Fresno State. He finished the loss with one tackle.

With the loss, Memphis' record fell to 4-2 and 1-1 in conference play. They travel to UAB next week for the revival of the rivalry known as "The Battle For The Bones."
