FIU Football: Offensive Lineman Leaves Program
During the week leading up to the FIU Panthers' taking on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, senior offensive lineman Jacob Peace parted with the program.
G5 Football Daily can confirm the report by ESPN that Peace has officially left the FIU football team due to injuries.
Peace began fall camp with a red no-contact jersey, meaning that he had suffered an injury, but the extent of the injury was not disclosed. However, Peace entered the regular season healthy and was a factor in protecting quarterback Keyone Jenkins during the Panthers' 3-1 start.
When FIU took on the UConn Huskies, Peace came out midway through the game due to a knee injury, but managed to play through it. He would go on to sit out the following game against the New Mexico State Aggies and saw limited playing time against the UTEP Miners, Sam Houston State Bearkats and Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
With the departure of Peace, the Panthers went with JaDarious Lee at right guard in the Panthers' 40-6 loss to the Blue Raiders this past Saturday.
Center John Bock II was also out against the Blue Raiders as he did not travel with the team to Tennessee.
Peace began his playing career in 2018 and barring a medical hardship waiver, should see his collegiate eligibility come to an end.
