FIU Football: Transfer Portal Players' New Homes
Thus far, eight players have entered the transfer portal since the end of the 2023 season for Florida International. Out of the eight that have departed, three have committed and/or signed to new schools.
Players that have entered the transfer portal: Kris Mitchell, Jordan Guerad, Adrian Cole, Phillip Houston, Grayson James, Avery Huff, Travonte O'Neal and D'Mor JeanBaptiste. (Players in bold have committed to a school)
Kris Mitchell - Notre Dame
Mitchell became the Panthers' record holder for most receiving yards in a single-season and played all 12 games in 2023. The All-Conference Second team selection will be headed to play for the Fighting Irish with former Duke quarterback Riley Leonard.
Jordan Guerad - Louisville
The Panthers' only Conference USA first-team selection entered the transfer portal about an hour after his selection was made public, he announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
Guerad went on to receive plenty of offers, especially at the power five level. He initially committed to the University of Minnesota, but opened his recruitment again, committing and signing with Louisville in the ACC.
Phillip Houston - Colorado
After starting all 12 games this past season, Phillip Houston decided to enter the transfer portal. 24 hours later, he was committed to play for Deion Sanders at Colorado. Colorado was Houston's only power five offer, committing soon after he received it.
