Liberty Claim CUSA Championship Game Berth, Improve To 8-0
In their first season as a member of Conference USA, the Liberty Flames have secured a spot in the league championship game. Liberty improved their record to 8-0 on the year after a 42-29 road win at Western Kentucky Tuesday night.
The Flames are one of nine remaining unbeaten teams in FBS and one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the G5.

Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter completed ten passes on 15 attempts for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Salter also rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. It's the second game in a row that he has thrown and rushed for at least 100 yards each.
Defensively, cornerback Kobe Singleton led the way with seven tackles and an interception. That turnover was the Flames' 19th of the season, which ranks second in FBS.

Liberty's remaining regular season opponents are Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion, UMass, and UTEP. Of those teams, only Old Dominion have a winning record.
The Flames will continue the season on November 4 when they host 3-6 Louisiana Tech.
The CUSA Championship game is scheduled for December 2, 2023.
