Liberty Football: Big Names Enter Transfer Portal To Start 2024
In just a matter of a few days, the Liberty Flames have seen multiple players that played a key role into their 13-1 season enter the transfer portal. The most notable of these losses are quarterback Kaidon Salter and cornerback back Kobe Singleton, but the CUSA champion Flames find themselves in a position of needing to replace several important figures from Jamey Chadwell's Fiesta Bowl team.
Kaidon Salter - Quarterback
The Flames' best player this season, quarterback Kaidon Salter enters the transfer portal after a 2023 campaign where he threw for 2,876 yards, 32 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. Not only did Salter make an impact through the air, but also on the ground, rushing for 1,089 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Salter is a four-star quarterback in the transfer portal. He had the same rating coming out of high school, according to 247Sports. Salter previously transferred to Liberty from Tennessee prior to the 2021 season.
Kobe Singleton - Cornerback
In two seasons with the Flames, Singleton had 66 total tackles and six interceptions.
The junior cornerback enters the portal with one year of eligibility left and has already received offers from Power Five teams, including West Virginia, Mississippi State, and Cincinnati. In 2023, Singleton was tied for second in Conference USA with four interceptions and was first in passes defended with 16.
CJ Daniels - Wide Receiver
Kaidon Salter's most reliable target this season had 55 receptions for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. Daniels ranked fourth in the conference in receiving yards per game and second in yards per catch. Daniels was one of just three Conference USA receivers who reached 1,000 receiving yards in 2023.
Preston Hodge - Safety
A four-star player coming out of high school, Hodge had two productive seasons with the Flames, totaling 60 tackles and two interceptions.
Hodge gas already made his decision and will transfer to Colorado to play under head coach Deion Sanders.
Kendy Charles - Defensive lineman
Charles spent four seasons with the Flames before entering his name into the transfer portal as a graduate student. He totaled 108 tackles, 13.5 sacks and 22.5 tackles for loss.
Robert Rahimi - Safety
In two seasons with the flames, Rahimi had 78 total tackles, six interceptions and half a sack. Expect Rahimi to receive some Power Five interest. Rahimi went from a two-star prospect coming out of high school to a three-star as a transfer portal player.
